Installing the built-in JIRA insights

The built in JIRA insights can be installed from the Gtmhub insights presets. To get started go to Setup > Insights and select Start with a preset or Install from Gallery. Then from the list of presets select JIRA.

At this point if you have already established a connection to your JIRA instance Gtmhub will install the built in insights, and insightboards and connect the necessary data sources. If not you will need to provide connection details, more information here: JIRA Connector.

Builtin insights

Gtmhub has 32 built in insights organised in several insightboards.

Team Performance 

  • Items in progress
    the count of epics, stories and bugs that are in progress.
  • Ageing items in progress
    the count of stories and bugs that have been in progress for more than 7 days.
  • Done items
    the count of epics, stories and bugs that were done in a given time period. Filtered by the selected time period or all data
  • Average lifetime of a story
    average amount of time it takes a story to be closed since it is opened, in days.
  • Average age of a story
    average age of stories that are not done.
  • Average lifetime of an epic
    average amount of time it takes an epic to be closed since it is opened, in days.
  • Average age of an epic
    average age of epics that are not done.
  • Weekly velocity (items)
    the velocity of the team in a given time period in terms of completed stories and bugs.
  • Weekly velocity (story points)
    the velocity of the team in a given time period based on the story points assigned to items.

Stories

  • Stories in progress
    the number of stories in progress in a given time.
  • Story points in progress
    the sum of story points in progress.
  • Done story points
    the sum of story points of all completed stories in a given time period.

Bugs

  • Open critical bugs count
    the total count of open (not started or in progress) critical bugs (highest priority).
  • Closed bugs count
    the total number of closed bugs in a given time period.
  • New bugs
    the total number of new bugs opened during a given time period.
  • New critical bugs count
    the total number of new critical bugs opened during a given time period.
  • Average lifetime of a critical bug
    average amount of time it takes a critical bug to be closed since it is opened, in days.

Epics

  • Open epics count
    the total count of open (not started or in progress) epics.
  • Epics in progress count
    the total count of epics in progress.
  • Closed epics count
    the total count of closed epics in the selected time period.

People

  • Max items assigned to person
    the number of items assigned to the person with most items in a given time period. Show also the name of the person. The insight can be filtered by time period, e.g. last quarter.
  • Min items assigned to person
    the number of items assigned to the person with least items in a given time period. Show also the name of the person. The insight can be filtered by time period, e.g. last quarter.
  • Max story points assigned to person
    the sum of story points assigned to the person with most story points in a given time period. Show also the name of the person. The insight can be filtered by time period, e.g. last quarter.
  • Min story points assigned to person
    the sum of story points assigned to the person with least story points in a given time period. Show also the name of the person. The insight can be filtered by time period, e.g. last quarter.
  • Average items assigned to person
    the average number of items per person in a given time period.
  • Average story points assigned to person
    the sum of story points assigned to the person with least story points in a given time period. Show also the name of the person. The insight can be filtered by time period, e.g. last quarter.

Backlog

  • Backlog
    the number of epics, stories, bugs and other items with status backlog.
  • New items in the backlog
    the number of epics, stories, bugs and other items added in the backlog for the selected time period (status is backlog).
  • Un-estimated backlog items
    the number of epics, stories, bugs and other items that do not have estimates.
  • New Un-estimated backlog items
    the number of epics, stories, bugs and other items added in the backlog for the selected time period, which do not have estimates. The insight can be filtered by time period, e.g. last quarter.
