Problem:
Using the drag and drop alignment feature while in alignment view to align objectives from different sessions that are not directly related is interrupted with the following error message:

Cause:
You have created a new objective in a session and now you are trying to use the drag and drop alignment feature to align a new objective, but from the wrong session.

Clarification:
You are in a session called Future Session and you want to use the drag and drop alignment feature while in alignment view to align a new objective from a session called

Q2 2023, a session that is not directly related to the Future Session.

Please note that you cannot align an objective from two different sessions, unless the sessions have a parent-child relationship between them.

The error message appears because the newly created objective labeled Achieve record revenues while increasing profitability is associated with the Q2 2023 session, while the objective you are trying to align to BBB, is associated with the Future Session. You are not allowed to use the drag and drop alignment feature to align objectives from unrelated sessions.

Solution:
Edit your Q2 2023 session to include the Future Session as your parent session, then you will now have the parent-child relationship between both sessions.

Now that the parent- child relationship has been established between sessions, you can now align the objective Achieve record revenues while increasing profitability from Q2 2023 (the child session) under the objective BBB from the Future Session (parent session) using the drag and drop alignment feature.

The below video shows how to reproduce the error and how to solve it.
