Overview

Automating a process to save time and stay informed about critical business objectives is a way to gain a competitive advantage.

It is critical for managers and senior leadership to be in the loop about changes in their company OKRs. This article demonstrates how to use automation to follow the OKR progress. The following procedure, uses the OKR progress to trigger an action. You first create the trigger, then - the conditions, and, finally, the action to be automatically performed.

Create the trigger

You can use changes in the objective's progress to trigger your automation.

Perform the following:

  1. Create a new automation .
For more information, see Create automations.
  2. On the Create new trigger step, select It will be triggered by an event.
This way. you define the automation to run when something happens.
  3. In Trigger when, select progress changed
This way, you configure the automation to run every time an objective's progress changes.
  4. Click on Create trigger.

NOTE: The progress changed trigger is specifically designed to capture changes in the objective attainment. In such cases, use this trigger instead of modified. The modified trigger applies only to changes in the properties of an objective, such as title or description.

Define the condition

Define the threshold value for the automation execution. The execution of the automation is based on the progress of the objective.
Perform the following:

  1. Click Add a condition
  2. In the first dropdown box, select Progress.
  3. In the second dropdown, select the required operator.
For example, whether progress should be greater than or less than a value.
  4. Enter a value to compare the objective progress against.
  5. Optionally, you can add another condition
For example, you can define a range - Progress greater than 90 and Progress lower than 95.

Finally, you can define the action to be performed by Gtmhub, when the conditions are met and the automation is triggered.
